and Welcome !

Our parish has two places of worship

Avendale Old Parish Church in Kirk Street, Strathaven
and
Drumclog Memorial Kirk, about five miles west of Strathaven along the Darvel Road.

We hope that our site is of use to you. All the information you could possibly want concerning our church is on the web site: Sunday worship, times of services, forthcoming events, and even some handy resources for your own church to make use of.

The purpose of Avendale and Drumclog is to worship God; to help others come to faith in Jesus Christ; to help them grow in faith, and go out in service.

The Rev Alan Gibson was ordained and inducted as Minister of Avendale and Drumclog on the 25th January 2001. Alan’s first degree was obtained from Strathclyde University in French and Marketing. After three years in the marketing and business world, Alan was called to the Ministry. He spent two years at Glasgow University, and a year in Switzerland, at Neuchatel University, after which he gained his Bachelor of Divinity Honours Degree. In his spare time, Alan enjoys football and golf. He is married to Karen, and they have two sons, Benjamin and George.

Enjoy browsing the site, but don’t stop there – come and worship with us!
