Our parish has two places of worship

  Avendale Old Parish Church in Kirk Street, Strathaven
and
Drumclog Memorial Kirk, about five miles west of Strathaven along the Darvel Road.

We hope that our site is of use to you. All the information you could possibly want concerning our church is on the web site: Sunday worship, times of services, forthcoming events, and even some handy resources for your own church to make use of.

The purpose of Avendale and Drumclog is to worship God; to help others come to faith in Jesus Christ; to help them grow in faith, and go out in service.

The charge is currently vacant, our Interim Moderator during the vacancy being the Rev. Elizabeth Waddell who is Minister at Hamilton West.

Hamilton Presbytery have sisted our congregation. This is a fairly normal procedure during the implementation of the current Presbytery Plan - which in this case is the union of the West and East churches - and which means our congregation cannot 'call' a Minister until Presbytery allow us to do so.  The permission will occur when Presbytery evaluates how the Plan for Strathaven is currently being achieved.
